Often, young children can feel uneasy about wearing masks. Here is a great way to let them have a hands-on exploration of the very thing that may be making them feel unsure. Let them hold it, try it on, decorate it, and even play with it for a day or two. Explain why we wear masks in short and simple phrases. (i.e. Your mask is soft and light. It helps keep us healthy.) Let them put it on and off in front of a mirror. All of this will give them the time to develop ownership, comfort, and confidence to safely wear their very own mask when needed.
